Sick Mommy and Daddy

Monday night we decided to eat some Salmon which was really good at the time, but...that night Nick and I both got sick!! We were sick all night and then the next day. It is soooo not fun for both of us to be sick and trying to take care of two kiddos. Poor Kaiden walked around all day bored out of his mind asking us to play with him. There was even a time when Nick was on the couch and I was in bed and Kiaden said, "I guess I have to go play by myself again." Talk about breaking your heart!! Zachary was great though because he is so calm and chilled that he just sat back and either napped with mommy or sat in his swing happily.
We are both feeling much better today. Nick went to work and I plan on getting out later to go to the park so Kaiden can RUN!

Zachary's girlfriend
This was Zachary's first visit with his new girlfriend Kaydence. They were so cute together. We had a hard time getting them to smile at the same time though. :) Kristin and i are already planning their wedding. LOL Doesn't Zachary look so happy with his sweet girlfriend?

Visit with Kristin
Sunday I was able to visit with my friend from college, Kristin and her new baby Kaydence. Krsitin and I danced together at Texas Tech on the Pom Squad and were roomates my first year there. We became really good friends over the past years and have tons in common, plus we are oddly alike. Kristin and I found out we were both pregnant at the same time. My due date was suppose to be the week after Kristin's. Zachary was born on Feb. 6 and Kaydence was born on Feb. 7. It is such a blessing to be able to share our babies together. Her and husband Brian live up near Seattle and we hardly get to see them. It was such a great visit and we can't wait to see them again.

Our Texas Tech "Hooter Hiders" handmade by Bekah's mom. The babies were on the same nursing schedule. :)

My Boys!

Visiting Nana & Pops
We visited Nana & Pops(Bekah's parents) this past weekend. We had a wonderful time. We were able to go to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. Kaiden had so much fun seeing all of the animals. He got to pick out one animal toy from the gift shop to take home with him. He picked out an elephant named "Johnathan." I have no idea why it is named that, but it's pretty funny! Zachary hung out in the sling with Nana, while mommy and Pops followed Kaiden around everywhere. As you can tell he also enjoyed being a monkey even though we did not get to see monkeys.

2 Months
Here is our big boy at 2 months. He is really starting to smile and get a personality. He weighed in at 9lbs. 10oz. at his 2 month check up on March 26. He HAd to get his shots which of course he hated! But he is doing great!
Zachary is becoming super strong like his big brother. He has rolled over 3 times and enjoys tummy time. He is holding his head up really well and even tries to sit up and stand up when we are holding him. I swear he thinks he is a big boy sometimes! He will be crawling and walking before we know it.

This is too cute! Kaiden was at his cousin Cameron's house playing this past week. They were quietly playing in his room and then all of a sudden we heard them singing Jesus Loves Me. My brother quickly went in there and videotaped them signing and Kaiden playing the piano. My son is going to be a musician!!!! haha. This just melts my heart!

EASTER!
Here are some cute pics of Kaiden hunting for easter eggs. He also got to meet the easter bunny...he was actually excited to see him!

Straight Line!
Kaiden decided that he needed to take all of his cars in his room and put them in a straight line. If one car was turned the wrong way or out of line he would go back and fix it right away. Is this the start of OCD?? HAHA

Just like daddy!
Kaiden has to be just like daddy and shave. So here are so pics of my little man shaving his smooth face! Don't worry, that is a fake plastic razor kaiden's using.

Camping
Kaiden and daddy decided to pull out the tent a few weeks ago and have themselves a camping trip in our backyard. They gathered all the necessities into Kaiden's spiderman bag; books, snacks, drink, flashlights and headed out to the tent for a night under the stars. They had a blast!!!

1 Month

I can not believe that a month has already gone by!!!! It feels like yesterday I was still pregnant waiting the arrival of Zachary. I know that the time is going to fly with the second child, I just hope I don't miss out on all the great milestones of both my boys.

It has been a HUGE adjustment with two boys now, but we are surviving and getting through one day at a time. I am feeling great except for the sleep deprivation that I have been having with all of my broken sleep at night. I swear I only get about 5 hours of sleep at night and it is broken sleep at that. Last night Zachary slept about 5 hours straight which was fantastic because I was able to sleep 4 solid hours!!! WHOO HOOO!

Kaiden is still adoring being a "big brother." He has to tell everyone with that cute little proud smirk on his face! He has also miraculously decided that now is the time to finally conquer potting training. He is finally going "poo poo" in the potty and we can not be more proud of him. The first time he did I screamed so loud and was so excited that now every time he goes potty he has to do the same. Keep your fingers crossed for us that he continues on this path and that we will be diaper free with Kaiden soon!

1st Week Home!

1st Week Home
We survived our first week! We actually made it through our first week as a family of four. WOW! We are a family of four. Of course we did have some help along the way. Bekah's parents were here for about a week, helping with Kaiden mostly. Today(Friday) was Bekah's first time to be at home by herself with both kiddos. Let's just say it was exhausting!! Kaiden has started to become a little more defiant lately so we are in the process of working with him to listen and obey mommy and daddy. Zachary is doing great! He is sleeping about 4 hour stretches at night, eating great, and seems to be a laid back child so far. We pray that he stays this way!!! Nick's dad is coming for a weekend visit on Saturday and will stay until Monday. We are looking forward to introducing him to his 2nd grandson.

He's arrived

Now presenting the long awaited arrival of our baby boy...

Zachary David Davaul !!!!!

Zachary was born on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 3:03pm. He was 6lbs. 12oz. and 19 1/4 inches long. We were scheduled to get induced on Wednesday morning, but when Bekah called that morning the hospital was full and her induction was pushed back until 10:30. We waited patiently at home and finally arrived at the hospital and was in our room by 11:00. Bekah was already experiencing contractions the night before, but they were irregular and very far apart. Wednesday morning around 10:00 on the way to the hospital her contractions were actually going about 10-15 minutes apart. She was progressing all on her own so her doctor decided to break her water about 12:00. After that her contractions began getting closer together and stronger, but still bearable. They decided to go ahead and give her pitocin(medicine for inducing) about 1:30 to strengthen her contractions. Bekah knew at that moment that she should maybe go ahead and ask for the epidural at the same time because she was starting to feel a lot of pain at this point. Well after they did the pitocin and the epidural she progressed very fast! An hour and a half later Zachary arrived into this world with ease! Mommy nad baby are doing great! We stayed in the hospital until Friday and arrived at home Friday evening. Kaiden is LOVING his new baby brother and is really a big helper. He is always wanting to hold him, kiss, him and love him. He is very gentle and it is so dang cute to see him with Zachary. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful healthy baby boy! Zachary had done really well, is already nursing like a pro and sleeping well. We are very excited to start our new adventure with two little boys!

Tomorrow is the big day!!!! I am scheduled to get induced on Wednesday, February 6 in the morning. We are really looking foward to going from a family of three to a family of four!!! How exciting does that sound. Now I will have 3 boys(including Nick) to take care of! Will post pics and an update later.

Kaiden is patiently waiting the arrival of his new baby brother! He is very anxious to help mommy with the baby and talks about him all the time. He is very interested in babies and is always wanting to help! We are hoping that his excitment stays that way when baby Zachary actually comes.

Mommy is now 37 weeks pregnant and is also anxously waiting for the arrival of our little boy. I went to the doctor today and we are scheduled to induce on Wednesday, February 6. As long as my appointment on Tuesday the 5th looks good then I will get induce the next day!!! So the countdown begins...how exciting! 5 more days!!

We are expecting our second little boy any day now, Zachary David Davaul.
Kaiden is now 2 1/2 and has more energy then mommy and daddy combined!
