VBS
We had VBS last week at our church. It was tons of fun and Kaiden had a blast. I was a guide teacher for the 3 year olds. Kaiden got to go to craft, bible study, missions, music, playground, and he got to see Dennis Lee (he is a ventriloquist who puts on great shows teaching about God.) Our theme was Outrigger Island so the church was decorated with an island feel to it. Zachary was even able to take part. It is intended for entering K through 6th grade but they also have a separate VBS for the volunteer children 4 and under. It was so amazing to watch this event take place.

Who is Who?
Can you tell which one is Kaiden and which one is Zachary just by looking at their faces??? They look so much alike it is scary. do they take after their daddy or what?

Home Alone
Me and the boys are going on almost day 4 of being home alone without Nick. Nick had to go to Germany this week for work. He left on Monday the 16th and will return on Wednesday the 25th. It has been hard without him and I am exhausted! Kaiden asks about daddy everyday and actually had a meltdown today because he wanted his daddy. He was just so upset and all I could do was hug him. I almost cried myself. We have really gotten spoiled to his job now that he is home everynight by 5:30 and we get to see him all weekend long including every other Friday that he is off. Kaiden has gotten really attatched to his daddy and just does not understand why he is not home and why we can not call him. We only get to talk to him once a day for 30 minutes and email. But the time change is a 7 hour difference so it is kind of hard. We miss him soooo much and can not wait until he comes home. WE LOVE YOU DADDY!

Bathtime Fun
Kaiden has this obsession about putting things in a line. Today when he was taking a bath he had to line ALL of his toys up so they could dry out after being washed with our new Mr. Bubbles bubble bath. He was so proud of himself.

Our swimming pool
We bought Kaiden and Zachary a little swimming pool so that we can try to stay cool this summer in the hot Texas heat. Kaiden had a blast playing in his new pool even though the water was COLD! It really is the perfect size for him.

4 Months
Zachary went for his 4 month checkup on Friday the 13th. It went really well until his shots of course. The first two shots were ok but by the time the third and fourth shots came around he was beat red in the face and screaming! My happy little baby was MAD. He weighed in at about 13 lbs. 3oz. and 23 1/2 inches. He is in the 25% for weight. He is eating great and growing beautifully. However, Wednesday I took him to the doctor again because his cough was getting worse and I could hear the congestion in his chest. The doctor said that it would take some time to clear the gunk out of his chest but he did have a mild ear infection in his right ear. My poor baby has his first ear infection and needed his first round of antibiotics at 4 months. He is getting better and is hardly cranky now as you can tell from the pics.

Swing Time
Zachary enjoys swing time especially now that he can actually reach and grab for the toys. He is getting much more active and wants to move all the time, he is our little wiggle worm. He is also a relaxed baby and enjoys chilling out and watching what is going on around him. He is our happy easygoing baby.

Helping Daddy
Kaiden loves to help daddy mow the lawn. He follows his every move and wants to be just like daddy.

Astros Game
Last night we got invited to go to the Astros Game. Our good friends John and Michele Miley were suppose to go with their boys Noah and Ashton and John's parents. Noah got really sick last night and ended up with a high fever and ear infection. Michele called us and asked if we wanted to go in their place cause John's parents were still going to take Ashton with them. We said of course cause Kaiden loves his best friend Ashton.
We had so much fun at the game. Kaiden and Ashton were hilarious because they were yelling "Move the train, come on." (If someone scored a home run they would move the train.) They finally got to see the train move in the 8th inning. At the game they have a play place where the kids can run through this 4 story tall maze/jungle gym and some other fun events. Kaiden followed some older boy and ended up at the very top. I was kind of worried at first cause I could not see him, but he made it back down just fine. Kaiden also was able to play the "out run the runner" game. This is where they run down the baseline and try to beat the other runner. Of course my fast little ball of fire ran super fast and beat him...he was so proud of himself.
The best part was the fireworks at the end of the game. the boys loved it, including Zachary. Zachary was great the whole game and never cried. Loud noises obviously do not bother him because he was enthralled by the fireworks show, he stared in amazement.

Kaiden's visit to Dentist
We took Kaiden to the dentist in May to get his teeth checked and cleaned. Our main concern was his front tooth. About 4 months ago he fell and hit his mouth on the frame of his bed and left his tooth discolored. They told us that his tooth had some nerve damage and that they would have to do a baby root canal. Well, today was the day of his baby root canal and let me just tell you it was AWFUL! I hated every minute of it and I know he did too. Luckily Nick came with me for support, which I totally needed. We were not allowed to sit with Kaiden or go back there with him, but we could hear his every scream and cry. This just completely broke my heart into pieces knowing that there was nothing I could do. The only medicine he had was local anesthetic, so I know my poor baby was in a lot of pain. The good news is that Kaiden is doing ok now. He has been sleeping since we left the dentist at 1:30.

Zachary's First Meal
We decided to give Zachary some rice cereal for the first time last night. For the past week he has been eyeballing our food, trying to grab at our plates, and wants to eat a lot during the day. So, we figured he was ready for some food. He did so good! It took him a few times to learn how to swallow it, but he started getting the hang of it. He was so excited and happy about eating it was to funny. He was kicking, laughing, cooing, and smiling over his food.
Kaiden was a big help too. He would help me by wiping off his face and cheering Zachary on. He would say,"Good job Zachary...Just a few more bites...you didi it. you ate all your food." We got it on video we just have to figure out how to take it from the video to the computer??

Blueberry Picking
We went blueberry picking today at Moorheads Blueberry Farm in Conroe. We had a great time. They give you a bucket and send you on your way to pick as many blueberries as you want. You can buy them for $1.50/pound. We got almost 2 lbs. for less than $3 bucks! Kaiden had a blast. He did most of the picking. He did such a great job finding all of the "blue" blueberries. Later we had a picninc lunch and ate a blueberry flavored snow cone. We will have to go back again to get some more. We plan on making blueberry muffins this weekend.

Memorial Day
We spent Memorial Day with my family at my Aunt's house in Mansfield. We were also getting together so that my brother Chris and Rebecca could introduce my baby neice Maggie to the rest of the family. It was so much fun getting to spend time with everyone and hanging out with them all weekend.

Old MacDonald's Farm
On Wed. May 21st Bekah took the boys to a place in Humble called Old MacDonald's Farm. This is a really cool palce where they have a petting zoo, sand mound, playgrounds, train, pony rides, and a swimming pool. Kaiden played for almost an hour on the sand mound...he was covered in sand! He got to go around to pet and feed the animals. He also got to ride a pony about 6 times. We were there from about 10-2 and man was it hot!!!! Zachary just chilled out in his carseat most of the time.

Here he is feeding the cow, luckily Kaiden dropped all the food before the cow could lick him with his big ole tounge. Kaiden did however stick his whole hand in the water bowl...YUCK!

He had so much fun feeding the deer right out of his hand. The deer walk around the place freely so you have to watch our for your food or they will snatch it!

Both the boys were soooo tired! All three of us jump right into the shower when we got home and then crashed on the couch.

Kaiden update
Ok so here is an update on Kaiden and his high fever:

I finally heard back from the nurse practitioner and she said that the results showed that there was no sinus infection. His xrays show that he actually has pneumonia in his left lung. Geez! I have him on antibiotics and his breathing treatments. She said that his fever should go down and he should start to feel better after 48 hours. If he doesn't then to call them back. Luckily I have to take Zachary in soon for his check up so I will talk to my dr. about this then. The weird thing is that he has been doing his breathing every 4-6 hours for 2 weeks and he still gets pneumonia?? I guess I will be seeing an asthma specialist when this is all over. His fever was around 103 before I gave him motrin around 5:30 and it feels like it is going down. I hope it does not spike tonight, we will keep an eye on it for sure. He is walking around now so he seems to be feeling a little better. Please keep him in your prayers.

High Fever-Kaiden
Yesterday after we got home from being at Michele's house I noticed Kaiden felt like he had a fever. Of course he did but it was not too high...about 100. I gave him some motrin and did his breathing and then we laid down for a nap. Well when he woke up from his nap his fever had risen to 102. Before he went to bed we gave him a bath and put a wet washcloth over his head. Poor baby fell asleep about 7:00 which is so unusual for him. I went and checked on him about 10:00 before I went to bed and he was burning up. I took his temp and it was 104.1. I was like holy crap!!! I was able to give him some more medicine and keep a cool washcloth on his face. I brought him to bed with us so I could keep an eye on him. Luckily around 4:30 this morning when I woke up with Zachary his fever had lowered to about 102. Then again this morning his fever spiked to 104.7! I quickly called the dr. and took him in. I take his temp rectally b/c it is the most accurate. So that 104.7 was rectal temp. I had to see the nurse pracitioner b/c all of the Dr.'s were booked. I was a little sceptical at first but was relieved b/c I actually liked her and she was very thorough. At the Dr. his temp was 104.3. She gave him motrin, we did a breathing treatment, and she tested for strep. Strep was negative so she sent me to Kingwood Medical to do chest and sinus x-rays and to get blood work done. We are still waiting on the results. She prescribed me antibiotics that were strong enough for pneumonia. The chest x-rays are to see if he has pneumonia or bronchitis. The sinus x-rays are to see if it is a sinus infection. And the blood work is to see if he has a viral or bacteria infection.

Kaiden's background: We have been doing breathing treatments with an inhaler for over a year now off and on. About 2 weeks ago I took him to the Dr. b/c he was breathing funny and coughing a lot. She diagnosed him with Asthma and we started the breathing treatments again. He was on Singular but I took him off b/c I noticed a loss in his appetite. Just as he was getting his appetite back he has now lost it again b/c he is sick. I really hope he gets better b/c I know having all of that fluid in his lungs is awful for him. So right now it is a waiting game to see what is causing his fever to spike.

I took his temp about 2:00 and it was 101.4...so at least it is going down. We will see how tonight goes b/c it tends to spike at night and in the morning. I will keep you all updated as soon as I know.

Mother's Day

Nana & Pops, Chris & Rebecca, Cameron and baby Maggie (Bekah's brother) visited on Mother's Day when we dedicated Zachary at our church. We had a nice relaxing day with family.

Zachary's Dedication

On Mother's Day last Sunday, May 11 Zachary was dedicated at our church, Humble 1st Baptist. This dedication was a ceremony in which we as a family made a commitment before the Lord to submit Zachary to God's will and to raise him according to God's Word and God's ways. Pastor Bruce introduced Zachary to our church, explained the meaning of his name "Humble before God," and then prayed over Zachary, and us as a family. It was such a special moment being on Mother's Day!

Zachary & Maggie
Here is Zachary's new cousin Margaret Olivia Jones, but they call her Maggie. This is my brother and sister in laws newest addition. She was born on April 15 which makes her 9 weeks younger than Zachary. It is going to be so much fun having a little girl in the family. Hopefully she will fit right in with the boys!

3 Months
Zachary is now 3 months and is getting such a wonderful personality. Always smiling, laughing, or talking! He does not cry much, unless he is hungry. Whatever you do don't wait too long to feed him or gets pissed!!! (Ask daddy about that, haha) Weighing in around 10 lbs., he is becoming a little chunk, with lots of cute rolls! This boy is super strong too. He can hold his head up for a long time, can roll over from belly to back, and he is always trying to sit up in his carseat. It looks like he is doing baby crunches! He is so alert during the day and prefers to be sitting up checking out the world. He is pretty much sleeping through the night...at least a 6-8 hour stretch. Whooo Hooo!

Zoo Day
We got to go to the zoo for a special event that was hosted by Nick's job, Baker Hughes. We were able to go in after hours where they provided us with dinner, drinks, and fun things to do. The sad thing was that most of the animals went to bed early, so we missed the monkey. Kaiden enjoyed riding the carousel the best. Zachary had no idea what was going on, but he did great! He was fascinated by the sights and sounds.

Happy Boy
Our little man is always so happy. I swear anything will make him smile or laugh. Here are a few cute pics of how cute he is when he smiles. By the way...check out those eyelashes!!!

Bath Time
Kaiden loves to help give Zachary a bath. Here are some pics of a great big brother helping, and our cute little man taking a bath! He LOVES taking a bath. He is always so calm and relaxed.
