Fire Fighter Nick made the paper!

Nick was in our local paper(Atascocita Observer) this morning. He recently graduated with Honors from the Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department. We can not express how proud and excited we are for him. Reality is setting in though since we have recently heard of a few fires that have already broken out and some bad accidents this past week. Nick has not officially started yet, but has to dedicate 2, 12 hour shifts a month. He will be stationed at station 3 which is only 2 minutes from our house so we will be able to go visit him when he is there.

I was suppose to walk up to the front to put his fire fighter shield on his shirt but I had a sleeping child in my lap(Kaiden) and was unable to get up. I felt really bad not being able to get up to put it on him, but I had my hands full. So here he is with some chief instead of his wife!

School Pictures

Kaiden and Zachary recently had their school pictures taken and I was lucky enough to get pictures of them together too. Their pictures turned out so good, my boys are like little models. The photographer was a couple from our church, Jeff and Christine Tonkin. You can view their work at digismiles.com, they do great work!

Rearranging furniture

ZackZilla strikes again! He pushed the butcher block to the other side of the kitchen. I guess he was trying to block us out of the fridge. That boys is super strong and not a day goes by without him pushing the chairs or table around. I guess he has added one more thing to push around.

Just like Pops

Kaiden wanted to be just like Pops today (his Pops works at Lowes). He looked so cute with all of his tools in every pocket and then we even put Nick's safety glasses on him. Pops would be so proud! :) Zachary and Kaiden have been our personal carpenters all day.

Got Milk?

My boys should be in milk ads. Zachary is such a big boy drinking from a big boy cup. He would not sit still long enough for me to take his picture with a milk mustache. Kaiden's picture is absolutely priceless.

Call me Frankenstein

My ZackZilla has some major style and actually picked out this outfit. Hey if he wants to be called Frankenstein then so be it. (From the movie Big Daddy) This should be the new style if you ask me. :)

Trick or Treat

Kaiden's friend Jeremiah had a birthday party on Halloween and had set up for all of us to go on a trailer ride around the neighborhood for some trick or treating. This was probably the most fun I have ever had trick or treating. I was laughing so hard at my boys and how stinkin cute they were as Batman and Robin. Zachary wanted to run because Kaiden kept running with his cape out singing the Batman song and he of course he had to play the part of Robin running behind. Zachary had somehow lost his shoe so part of the time he only had 1 shoe, good thing he had socks on. He was so cute trying to say "trick or treat" and he totally got the whole concept of going up to the person's door to get some candy. He even went into someones house because he wanted to see their dogs. When we were leaving their house he yelled out the biggest "BYYYYE" that I was crying because I was laughing so hard. It was just so much fun watching them have so much fun going house to house and acting like Batman and Robin. I can not wait for the years to come! enjoy the pictures.

i was so proud of those kids for going up and actually getting candy from the scary Michael mask. But hey if they wanted candy they had to do it. Afterwards Kaiden told Nick, "Dad he was scary, let's not go back to that house."

Batman & Robin

Last Saturday we had a social with some members of our lifegroup at church and decided to get together to carve pumpkins. We let the kids dress up in their costumes and they were all so cute. Our friends Paul just so happened to have an adult Batman costume for Nick to wear so he could match the boys (Batman & Robin). Instead of buying Kaiden a batman costume and spending $30 we used what we had. He already had his Batman PJ's so we just bought him a mask and my mom and I made the cape with material we already had. So we ended up spending $6 on his costume and Zachary's costume was borrowed so it cost us nothing and they turned out so cute! check out my boys!

Carving pumpkins!

This is our Pumpkin after we said the pumpkin carving prayer. This is such a neat prayer and a great way to once again share Christ during a holiday where he is usually not celebrated. I added the prayer below.

Pumpkin Carving Prayer

Dear God,
As I carve my pumpkin help me say this prayer:
Open my mind so I can learn about You;(Cut the top of the pumpkin)

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.(Clean out the inside)

Open my eyes so Your love I will see;(Cut the eyes out in heart shapes)

I'm so sorry for turning up my nose to all you've given me.(Cut a nose in the shape of a cross)

Open my ears so your word I will hear.(Cut the ears shaped like the Bible)

Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near(cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)

Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen.(Place a candle inside and light it)

Dewberry Farm

Today we went to Dewberry Farm. This was our second year to go and once again my boys had a blast. Kaidens favorite part was the duck races. Zachary seemed to enjoy everything! i wish I had more pictures but my batteries died, which Kaiden predicted. Nana asked him the day before we went to take lots of pictures and his response to her was, "I think the camera batteries are going to die." I should have seen that one coming and i guess it would have been wise to have charged the batteries before we went. I was disappointed in the pumpkin patch this year but we never buy our actual pumpkin from there but I still wanted some cute pictures, but there was very few pumpkins and they were small.

Duck Races!
