Batman & Robin

Last Saturday we had a social with some members of our lifegroup at church and decided to get together to carve pumpkins. We let the kids dress up in their costumes and they were all so cute. Our friends Paul just so happened to have an adult Batman costume for Nick to wear so he could match the boys (Batman & Robin). Instead of buying Kaiden a batman costume and spending $30 we used what we had. He already had his Batman PJ's so we just bought him a mask and my mom and I made the cape with material we already had. So we ended up spending $6 on his costume and Zachary's costume was borrowed so it cost us nothing and they turned out so cute! check out my boys!

This is our Pumpkin after we said the pumpkin carving prayer. This is such a neat prayer and a great way to once again share Christ during a holiday where he is usually not celebrated. I added the prayer below.

Pumpkin Carving Prayer

Dear God,
As I carve my pumpkin help me say this prayer:
Open my mind so I can learn about You;(Cut the top of the pumpkin)

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.(Clean out the inside)

Open my eyes so Your love I will see;(Cut the eyes out in heart shapes)

I'm so sorry for turning up my nose to all you've given me.(Cut a nose in the shape of a cross)

Open my ears so your word I will hear.(Cut the ears shaped like the Bible)

Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near(cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)

Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen.(Place a candle inside and light it)

Dewberry Farm

Today we went to Dewberry Farm. This was our second year to go and once again my boys had a blast. Kaidens favorite part was the duck races. Zachary seemed to enjoy everything! i wish I had more pictures but my batteries died, which Kaiden predicted. Nana asked him the day before we went to take lots of pictures and his response to her was, "I think the camera batteries are going to die." I should have seen that one coming and i guess it would have been wise to have charged the batteries before we went. I was disappointed in the pumpkin patch this year but we never buy our actual pumpkin from there but I still wanted some cute pictures, but there was very few pumpkins and they were small.

Duck Races!

Zachary loves putting on shoes. He will walk around the house saying "shoes, shoes" and try them on. It is hilarious when he puts on Nick's work boots. This particular day Kaiden had found Nick's show gloves and Zachary just had to try them on. He was trying to play peek-a-boo with these enormous gloves that covered his entire face.

I love this picture because it show his true personality.

Baby Monkey

Zachary looks like a baby monkey taking a ride on his mommy's back. check out those toes curling in a gripping on for dear life. He is such a fun loving active little monkey who brings so much joy to my heart. I am so blessed to be his mom!

Fire house visit

Since daddy is training to be a volunteer fire fighter he had to do a "ride on" as part of his training. He basically had to do a 12 hour shift where he went with them out on calls and was their shadow. He did the 6pm to 6am shift so that way he was not taking too much time away from family. I thought it would be cool for the boys to go say goodnight to daddy at the firehouse. They got to see where Nick would be sleeping and got a private tour, plus tons of stickers. We are so proud of Nick and can not wait until he graduates in a few weeks!

Eagle Springs Fall Festival

Last weekend I took the boys to a Fall Festival at a local neighborhood. They got to play games, get their face painted, rode a tractor/train ride, a hayride, and even had a petting zoo. The boys had a lot of fun. Kaiden loved the games the best and Zachary loved the petting zoo.

The pumpkins were free but since I was by myself with the boys I had no way of carrying the pumpkin back to the car. By the time we left there was no more pumpkins. I saw families walking out with like 3 pumpkins...how rude!

Insurance Gala

We went to an Insurance Gala with my parents this past weekend for charity. Since my mom is VP of an insurance company she invited us to go with them. It was a fun night where we learned how to play blackjack and got our characture done. It was fun getting dressed up since we dont get to do that often.

Ok compare our picture with the characture drawing, what do you think? so do you think our characture looks like us? I think it looks nothing like us! I look like a super model and Nick looks like some famous basketball or football player with a prominent jaw line. At least the artist made us look good! LOL also what is with my deformed hand???

Soccer game Oct. 3

Nana and Pops came to Kaiden's soccer game on October 3rd. He has not done so well in soccer recently but this game he did awesome! We were so proud of him because he actually got out there and kicked the ball and played hard! Here are some pics, there's a lot! :)
